MAURIZIO DURANTI
Maurizio Duranti was born in Florence in 1949. Today he lives in Milan, where he works as architect and designer. He has taught projecting at the European Institute of Design of Milan and at the Faculty of Architecture of Genoa. Since 1990 he has been working in the field of Industrial design and has designed particular products, which have gained a lot of success. He received several awards and rewards, such as the Good Design Award in the US in 1996-1997-1998-2003-2005 and the honor mention for the VXII Compasso d’Oro in Milan in 1998. He has designed buildings, exhibitions, shops and showrooms installations, which have been often published by national and international press because of their innovative features. Many of the products he has designed are present in the permanent collections of museums such as the Athenaeum of Chicago, the Bunkamura design Collection of Tokyo, the Neue Sammlung Museum of Munich, the Museum of design and decorative arts of Gent and the Victoria & Albert Museum of London.
